Course Overview:
This comprehensive Red Cross First Responder course is designed for individuals who are likely to be first on the scene of an emergency and require advanced first aid and CPR skills. It is ideal for firefighters, police officers, security personnel, workplace emergency response teams, and others involved in public safety or emergency response roles.

Course Dates: May 2, 3, 4, and 10, 2025
Time: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM daily
Duration: 40 hours
Certification:
3 year certification through Canadian Red Cross in First Responder
1 year certification through Canadian Red Cross in Basic Life Support
(digital certificate issued upon successful completion)
Delivered by Canadian Shield First Aid Training in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, this course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills to confidently manage medical emergencies in urban, rural, and remote environments.
Course Completion Requirements:
Successfully demonstrate the required skills.
Minimum 75% mark for written, closed book, knowledge evaluation.
Successfully complete two evaluated scenarios (one each, medical and trauma)
Attend and participate in 100% of the course
