Red Cross Stay Safe! Course

Offers basic first aid and safety skills for youth 9-13 years old. Participants learn about being safe when they are without the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult, both at home and in their communities.

Prerequisite: Ages 9-13

Duration: 5-6 hours

Responsibility and Respect: Emphasizes the importance of responsibility, respect, and being accountable for oneself, fostering a sense of maturity and awareness.

Safety Rules: Teaches the significance of setting and following safety rules when on their own, ensuring youth understand the essential guidelines to protect themselves.

Home and Community Safety: Provides essential insights into how to stay safe at home and within their community, offering practical tips for various situations.

Emergency Preparedness: Equips youth to prepare for, recognize, and respond effectively to unexpected situations such as inclement weather, encounters with strangers, and unanticipated visits.

Basic First Aid Skills: Offers fundamental first aid skills, enabling youth to respond confidently to common injuries and emergencies.
