  • Course Overview

    Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. Courses meet legislation requirements for provincial/ territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).  


    Prerequisites: None

    Duration: 5 hours

  • Course Content

    Our CPR/AED course content is carefully crafted to meet provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance board requirements, incorporating the latest CPR guidelines and AED training. Course content varies based on your chosen certification level:


    Level A Content:

    • Understanding The Red Cross
    • Responding to Emergencies
    • Check, Call, Care protocol
    • Recovery position
    • Adult choking response
    • Assisting with medications
    • Managing angina and heart attack situations
    • Stroke recognition and response
    • CPR and AED operation for adults
    • Effective response to deadly bleeding incidents

    Level C Content:

    • All Level A content
    • Choking response for children and babies
    • CPR techniques for children and infants
    • Comprehensive opioid poisoning awareness information
    • Inclusion of any additional content mandated by specific legislation
  • Certification

    3-year certification in CPR Level A or C

  • Recertification

    Level A: not available

    Level C : 3.5 hours 

  • Participant Material

    Participants receive a wealth of valuable materials, including the CPR course materials (available in print and/or eBook formats), the Comprehensive Guide to First Aid & CPR (eBook), access to CPR – Online resources (Blended only), and a digital certificate upon successful completion.
