Oxygen Therapy Course

Red Cross Oxygen Therapy course in Northern Ontario

Our Oxygen Therapy course is meticulously designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills to recognize when administering supplemental oxygen becomes imperative. Participants will gain comprehensive insights into the correct handling, assembly, and safe utilization of oxygen equipment, as well as the precise delivery of supplemental oxygen through appropriate devices. For added convenience, this course can be seamlessly combined with our Basic Life Support (BLS) program.

  • Course Overview

    Designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to correctly identify when it is necessary to administer supplemental oxygen. Participants will learn how to properly and safely handle and assemble the equipment and how to correctly deliver supplemental oxygen through the appropriate delivery device. Course can also be combined with Basic Life Support.


    Prerequisites: None

    Duration:  

    Stand-alone course: 1-2 hours

    Combined with BLS: 1 hour

    • Pulse oximetry 
    • Supplemental oxygen 
    • Oxygen cylinders 
    • Oxygen regulators 
    • Oxygen delivery devices
    • Administering oxygen
  • Certification

    1-year certification in Basic Life Support. Digital certificates will be issued upon successful completion.

  • Recertification

    A brief 2-hour recertification course ensures that your skills stay sharp and up to date.
