  • Course Overview

    Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. 


    Prerequisites: No prior first aid training required

    Duration: Minimum 14 hours in-class

    • Understanding The Red Cross and its mission
    • Preparing to respond effectively in emergency situations
    • Navigating the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) system
    • Mastering the Check, Call, Care protocol

    • Administering first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
    • Expert wound care techniques
    • Handling head, neck, and spinal injuries
    • Addressing bone, muscle, and joint injuries
    • Rapid response to sudden medical emergencies
    • Identifying and responding to environmental illnesses
    • Effective measures to handle poison-related incidents
    • Comprehensive coverage of content mandated by specific legislation
  • Certification

    3-year certification in Standard First Aid and CPR Level A or C

  • Recertification

    CPR C: 7.5 hours in-class
