In the heart of Northern Ontario, our Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR course is tailored to equip caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure the safety and well-being of children in their care. This essential two-day course, with a minimum of 16 hours of in-class training, serves as a comprehensive introduction to injury prevention strategies, lifesaving first aid skills, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR and AED) techniques designed specifically for children and babies.

    Two-day course designed to introduce caregivers to injury prevention skills and knowledge. Course covers lifesaving first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR and AED) for children, and babies. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements*.

    Duration:  16 hours in-class

    Our Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR course covers a wide range of crucial topics, including:


    • Understanding The Red Cross and its mission
    • Effective response to emergencies
    • Navigating the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) system
    • Mastering the Check, Call, Care protocol
    • Addressing airway emergencies
    • Managing breathing and circulation emergencies for children and babies
    • Administering first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest in children and infants
    • Expert wound care techniques
    • Handling head, neck, and spinal injuries
    • Responding to bone, muscle, and joint injuries
    • Rapid response to sudden medical emergencies
    • Identifying and addressing environmental illnesses
    • Effective measures to handle poison-related incidents
    • Caring for children with utmost competence
    • Inclusion of any additional content mandated by specific legislation
